Overview

The TPSM6310 quick-start calculator is a standalone tool that facilitates and assists the power-supply engineer with the design of a DC/DC buck regulator based on a family of synchronous buck power modules, including TPSM6310, TPSM63610E and TPSM63608. The user can quickly arrive at an optimized design to meet the application requirements.

Features
  • Determine input and output capacitances
  • Select components to define switching frequency, output-voltage setpoint and input-voltage undervoltage-lockout (UVLO) thresholds
  • Optimize bode plot for control-loop stability using crossover frequency as a performance metric
  • Inspect module power-conversion efficiency and total power dissipation
  • Review autogenerated schematic, BOM list and solution-size estimate
