TIPD127
PWM to 12-bit Analog Signal Conversion Circuit
TIPD127
Overview
This TI Precision Verified Design provides the theory, component selection, simulation, PCB design, and measurement details for a PWM to 12-bit resolution analog signal conversion circuit. Methods for selecting the passive filter’s order, cutoff frequency, and component values are included. This design example includes a 12 bit filter but the methodology can be applied to target other desired resolutions. This design also includes a test circuit, which is required to confirm that the output error (ripple) meets the design requirements because it cannot be directly measured using standard test equipment.
Features
- 3.3 Vpp 50% duty cycle PWM input
- 12-bit resoluion, 0-3.3V analog output
- 403 uVpp Maximum ripple
- Error (ripple) verification circuit included
- Supply Voltage: ±15 V dc (for post amplifier)
- Post amplifier gain: 1024 V/V, ac coupled
A fully assembled board has been developed for testing and performance validation only, and is not available for sale.
