TIDA-00220
Capacitive-Based Human Proximity Detection for System Wake-Up & Interrupt Reference Design
TIDA-00220
Overview
This reference design uses our capacitive-to-digital converter technology to provide a high-precision method to wake up systems when human interaction occurs. TIDA-00220 demonstrates techniques for an alternative sensor design, environmental compensation and electromagnetic interference protection.
Features
- Detects human proximity using a conductive nickel-print sensor that enables a flexible industrial design
- The sensor can be copper PCB material or other conductive material
- Reduces environmental effects through several techniques
- Sensing range is dependent on sensor geometry (20 cm with tested hardware)
- Low-power consumption of 6.2 mW
- This fully tested and characterized design includes hardware design files (schematics and layout), firmware and detailed user guide with test results
Industrial
A fully assembled board has been developed for testing and performance validation only, and is not available for sale.
