Overview

77GHz 3D waveguide antenna 4Tx4R - RF substrate independent solution family

HUBER+SUHNER has developed and manufactures a second-generation 3D metallized plastic waveguide antenna designed for RF substrate-independent solutions. This cutting-edge technology, enabled by proprietary interfaces, supports a new generation of highly dense Launch-on-Package (LOP) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMICs) as 4TX, 4RX configuration channels covering the full automotive 77GHz radar band (76GHz to 81GHz) in a compact port area of 125mm2. The antenna design significantly reduces the MMIC package size while enhancing transmission power, receiver sensitivity and maintaining high isolation levels, even with large assembly tolerances.

Features

4TX, 4RX channels covering the full automotive 77GHz radar band (76GHz to 81GHz).

Compact port area of 125 mm².

Boresight Gain = 15 dBi.

  • Elevation 10dB-Power-Beamwidth 20°.
  • Azimuth 10dB-Power-Beamwidth 140° (per channel).

Side lobe level <-20dB.

Reflection coefficient <-10dB.

Isolation for RX to TX lower than 35dB.

  • RX to RX lower than 25dB.
  • TX to TX lower than 28dB.
  • Including assembly tolerances (up to 400um).

Horizontal polarization.

The antenna complies with RoHS 2021/65EC and REACH 2006/1907/EC regulations.
