Enabling emerging markets with TI mmWave radar

Framery

Framery’s innovative smart pod design uses TI mmWave radar sensor technology to improve the everyday office experience for employees. The IWR6843AOP radar sensor enables highly accurate occupancy detection capabilities with reduced false errors. The radar technology detects when a person enters or leaves the pod and automatically adjusts the lighting and ventilation in the pod accordingly for improved energy efficiency. Additionally, accurate occupancy detection enables adaptive top-mounted lighting that shows whether a pod is free, in use, or a meeting is starting soon for smoother operation.

QUMEA

QUMEA’s RADIQ-1 sensor uses TI mmWave radar sensor technology to provide contactless monitoring of presence, vital signs and fall events for people in care facilities. The ultra-accurate IWR6843AOP radar sensor detects precise motion points in a room, and uses this data to understand position, posture and condition of a person in real-time to provide nearly error-free alerts. The high-level of accuracy can reduce falls by 74% and care effort by 20% for effective prevention and measurable therapeutic success. Radar technology also provides absolute privacy, compared to vision-based systems, with data that does not contain information that allows conclusions about a person.

Inxpect

Inxpect’s SBV-01 sensor uses TI mmWave radar sensor technology to advance safety in industrial automation and robotics systems. The IWR6843 is a single-chip, 60-GHz to 64-GHz, SIL-2 certified mmWave radar sensor that enables the detection of operators in dangerous areas to stop machinery from restarting until the area is clear. With high levels of accuracy, radar technology reduces false detections such as dust, debris, smoke and dirt and can measure even the smallest of movements such as a person breathing. Additionally, radar can measure several objects simultaneously for increased safety and productivity in complex environments. 

Axis Communications

Axis Communications’ AXIS Q1656-DLE Radar-Video Fusion Camera uses TI mmWave radar sensor technology to provide next-level detection and visualization to surveillance systems even at long distances. The ultra-accurate IWR6843 radar sensor enables improved people detection with reduced false triggers typically caused by shadows, light beams, raindrops or insects. The radar sensor provides critical information such as the position, speed and direction of detected movement for enhanced intelligence. In addition, radar technology helps to conserve energy, because radar can “see” in the dark.

Our mmWave solutions for occupancy detection/ people counting enable 3D detection and tracking of multiple people or objects with precise position, velocity and angle information. Simplify solutions by ignoring non-moving objects such as chairs and tables and filtering clutter from moving objects such as fans, curtains or blinds.
